Each day you will be provided with multiple and various opportunities to demonstrate your talents, work, preparation, aptitude, attitude and validate your sincere commitment to becoming a vital, sustaining member of a literate, intelligent society. 

In addition, you will be asked to bring to class a KWL on the concepts which will be discussed during class.  This task requires you to document and reflect on what you KNOW about the concept (s) being addressed (refer to the Schedule on the Syllabus); what you WANT to learn and then after the class; you will share what you have LEARNED on the concepts discussed.

If at any time, you are not able to do this, or have modified your beliefs and perspective on actively engaging in the academe, please contact me for a chat and I will do my best to assist you in further endeavors outside of the institution. 

A variety of formal and informal data will be collected on how you behave in class.   This data will be transformed, documented and ultimately translated into a "Daily Opportunity" outcome worth 5% of your total opportunities for this course. 

Daily opportunities could include, but are not limited to:

• KWL

• Attitude and demeanor

• Newspaper program

• Active engagement

• Higher level questions

• Curiosity and inquiry

• Going above and beyond

• Bringing in additional and supplemental material to the class

• Collegiality

• Assistance to your colleagues

• Passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the material, the class and learning

• Chapter quizzes

• Other...
